BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices 7.6 beta 2
The second beta of BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices is out and, thank to all who registered with our beta program, we were able to fix a number of issues with our previous release and also pack in some new features.
The fixed bugs are:
- [bdgui] crash on very big log files;
- [bdgui] dead-lock on /proc scan;
- [bdgui] dead-lock on inaccessible directories;
- [bdgui] error if logging is not enabled;
- [bdgui] moved the log and quarantine directory from ‘$HOME/.local’ to ‘$HOME/.local/share’
- [bdscan] fixed two SELinux related issues
The new features are:
- [bdgui] drop zone (similar to the activity bar of our Windows Desktop product);
- [bdgui] drag and drop support for the main window (drop a file on it in order to scan it);
- [bdgui] compression for paths that exceed a certain size (in the scan window);
- [bdgui] a link pointing to our website will be shown when the license is trial or expired, allowing users to quickly obtain a new free license;
- [bdgui] added a nice ‘Tip of the Day’ window;
- [bdgui] enabled the logging by default;
- [bdgui] if the log file is too big, a nice explanatory message appears
- [bdscan] an error message will be printed if called with ‘–update’ as a normal user;
- [bdscan] added localization support.
There is still a long road ahead of us. Stay tuned. There will be more.
